DNA anunță că Mihai Chirica, primarul din Iași, a fost inculpat în dosarul „Păcura”

Mihai Chirica, the mayor of Iași, has been indicted by the National Anticorruption Directorate (DNA) for abuse of office in the "Păcura" case. He is accused of approving a fictitious payment of over 2 million lei for 542 tons of fuel that was reported missing. The investigation also involves nine other municipal officials for complicity and intellectual fraud. The DNA claims that the actions led to significant financial losses for the local budget, prompting the seizure of assets to recover the damages. Chirica was informed of his status as an accused on October 6.
