DN1, „drumul morții” în România: 48 de decese și peste 600 de răniți în ultimul an / Marțea e cea mai periculoasă zi / Cauzele care produc cele mai multe accidente
DN1 remains the most congested and dangerous road in Romania, with alarming statistics for 2025 predicting 425 accidents, 48 fatalities, and over 650 injuries. In response, traffic police have launched a major control operation to reduce road incidents. Key causes of accidents include speeding, failure to yield, mobile phone use while driving, and not maintaining safe distances. The most accident-prone day is Tuesday, particularly between 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. During a recent operation, police issued nearly 200 fines, primarily for speeding, and emphasized preventive measures by discussing the dangers of alcohol, drugs, and distractions with drivers.
