The project involved significant structural changes, including the complete overhaul of the road's surface and depth layers. Initially started in 2011, the work faced delays and was divided into two sections for completion. The first section, from Câmpulung Muscel to Fundata, is nearing final inspection, while the second section, from Fundata to Brașov, requires only minor finishing touches. The road is crucial for tourism and experiences heavy traffic, especially during weekends and holidays.
