Dispută diplomatică între Moscova şi Chişinău: Rușii susțin că 220.000 de persoane din Transnistria ar trebui să voteze
The upcoming Russian parliamentary elections have sparked a diplomatic conflict between Moscow and Chisinau over voting in the breakaway region of Transnistria. Moldova has objected to Russia's plan to open 15 polling stations there, calling it unacceptable and hostile. The Moldovan government insists that Russian citizens should only vote at the Russian embassy in Chisinau. Moldova's foreign minister warned Russia against interfering with Moldova's plans for peaceful reintegration of Transnistria, while Russia's foreign ministry urged Moldova to drop its objections. In the 2021 elections, over 59,000 voters participated in Transnistria, with a significant majority supporting the ruling party.
