Ciprian Ștefan, director of the ASTRA National Museum Complex, warns that the proposed salary law could severely impact Romanian museums and discourage young professionals in heritage fields. He highlights the aging workforce and low salaries, stating that the highest salary for a specialist with 20 years of experience is only 4,900 RON. Raluca Teodorescu, manager of the Brukenthal National Museum, echoes these concerns, emphasizing the need for fair compensation for museum employees managing valuable collections. The current salary for a top-level museum curator is around 5,000 RON net.
