This delay restricts the Turkish contractor Mapa-Cengiz to completing only 45% of the contracted work. CNAIR submitted the necessary documentation for the revised agreement in August 2026, and until it is issued, work is limited to areas with existing construction permits. Recent progress includes the completion of both tunnels at Boița, with ongoing work on other tunnels. The overall physical progress of the project is approximately 16%.
