The director of the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant, Romeo Urjan, stated that Unit 2 can operate for about 10-11 more days if measures to increase the Danube's water level are effective. Recent interventions have provided additional operational days. However, forecasts indicate a continuous decrease in the water level, potentially leading to a shutdown in 5-7 days without further actions. The sinking of barges could extend operations by an additional 2-3 days. Urjan confirmed that ongoing dredging operations may also contribute to extending the operational period.
