The director of the Cernavodă nuclear power plant, Romeo Urjan, stated that if the operation to sink barges in the Danube succeeds, it will extend the operation of Unit 2 by 2-3 days. However, if unsuccessful, they may have to shut down Unit 2 in 5-7 days due to decreasing water levels. Current measures have increased the Danube's flow by 4 cm, allowing for a temporary extension of operations. Dragging operations are ongoing, but no further actions are planned at this time. Unit 1 has already been shut down due to low water levels, while Unit 2 continues to operate normally.
