Directorul Centralei de la Cernavodă confirmă oprirea Reactorului 2: „Am hotărât ca joi dimineață, la ora 7:00, să începem procedura”
The Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant's Unit 2 will undergo a controlled shutdown starting Thursday at 7:00 AM, as announced by director Romeo Urjan. This decision is voluntary and aims to gradually reduce power output to protect equipment and prepare for the removal of current production levels. The plant is operating normally, and recent dredging operations have extended its operational time by a week. The Danube's water level has reached a critical threshold, impacting cooling pumps and necessitating the reactor's shutdown. There is no risk of blackout or energy rationing, but energy imports will increase.
