The director of the Sibiu Hospital Care Home was detained for 24 hours on corruption charges related to accepting bribes for facilitating the admission of elderly individuals. Investigators allege he received money disguised as donations from relatives of patients between May and July 2026. A total of over 56,000 lei was reportedly accepted, with funds transferred to a non-profit account controlled by the suspect. Police executed multiple search warrants, uncovering cash and electronic devices.
