Director de la Apele Române, despre devierea unui braț al Dunării: "Ar prelungi cu câteva zile funcționarea centralei de la Cernavodă"
Authorities are exploring technical solutions to increase the Danube's flow near the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant to prevent the shutdown of reactor 2 due to drought. Sorin Rîndașu from Apele Române stated that while blocking the Bala arm is not possible, they are considering directing part of the flow to extend the plant's operation by 3-5 days. The current low water levels in the Danube are a concern, with predictions indicating a further decrease. Measures are being discussed to maintain flow levels comparable to today, and an extraordinary government meeting has been called to address the energy crisis.
