Diana Buzoianu, the interim Minister of Environment, stated that the evaluation of ANM director Elena Mateescu is currently impossible due to the non-functional Board of Administration. The board lacks a quorum, preventing decision-making. Buzoianu highlighted that several positions remain vacant and that attempts to appoint new members have been hindered by AMEPIP's criteria. She expressed concerns about potential financial risks for ANM due to this blockage. Additionally, Buzoianu revealed questionable expenditures by ANM, including luxury items, prompting her to request the resignation of the leadership and to forward the findings to the General Prosecutor's Office. Mateescu refrained from commenting on the allegations, citing an ongoing investigation.
