Authorities monitored air quality due to significant smoke emissions, with pollution levels exceeding legal limits at times. The air quality was also assessed in Cristian, near Sibiu, following local complaints. The fire, which started on Thursday evening, released considerable smoke from burning plastic materials. The Environmental Protection Agency deployed equipment to measure various pollutants, revealing elevated levels during the incident. Although the fire was extinguished, concerns remain about air quality in nearby communities, prompting ongoing evaluations.
