Din 31 august se plătește la kilometru: România introduce sistemul TollRO

Starting August 31, 2026, Romania will implement the TollRO electronic toll system for freight vehicles over 3.5 tons, charging based on distance and Euro standard. This new system replaces the current flat-rate rovinieta, aligning with EU directives and promoting environmentally friendly practices. The toll rates will vary depending on vehicle category and emissions, with newer Euro standards incurring lower fees. Payment options include route tickets, a mobile app, or an onboard device for frequent users. Non-payment will result in fines, with electronic checks in place to ensure compliance.
