On August 29, 2026, prosecutors detained three individuals involved in international drug trafficking linked to a spiritual event in Romania. The event, named 'Amazon Weekend', aimed to promote Amazonian rituals and involved the consumption of hallucinogenic substances. Investigations revealed that participants were recruited through interviews and charged significant fees for the event. During a raid, authorities seized over 6.6 liters of mescaline, hallucinogenic mushrooms, and various drug-related paraphernalia. The two male suspects were placed in preventive detention, while the female suspect was placed under judicial control.
