A forgotten flame in a London bakery ignited a devastating fire that consumed 80% of the city, leading to chaos and destruction. The Great Fire lasted four days, destroying over 13,000 buildings, including a cathedral and the town hall. Officially, only six deaths were reported, but the true toll remains unknown. The fire paradoxically cleared the city of previous plagues and allowed for a complete reconstruction. In 1870, France faced humiliation after losing to Prussia at the Battle of Sedan, resulting in the fall of the French Empire and the loss of Alsace and Lorraine. In 1945, Japan signed its final surrender aboard the USS Missouri, marking the end of World War II, although some Japanese units remained unaware of the surrender until much later.
