The interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced the approval of the 'Diaspora Investeste Acasă' program, aimed at supporting Romanians abroad to start businesses in Romania. The program has a budget of 100 million euros and will be implemented through the Investment and Development Bank. New companies owned by Romanians living abroad can receive grants covering up to 60% of investment loans, with a maximum of 200,000 euros per beneficiary. The government aims to support around 1,000 new businesses by 2029, leveraging the professional experience of Romanians abroad. Beneficiaries must maintain their investments and ownership structure for at least three years to ensure stability and job creation.
