Diana Șoșoacă a pierdut, la Tribunalul UE, procesul prin care cerea suspendarea deciziei Parlamentului European de ridicare a imunității sale

The Court of Justice of the EU rejected Diana Iovanovici Șoșoacă's request to suspend the European Parliament's decision to lift her immunity. She presented five arguments, all deemed unfounded by the court. The European Parliament lifted her immunity on April 28, 2026, at the request of Romanian authorities due to alleged criminal acts from 2021 to 2025, including assaulting Italian journalists. Only one statement made by her was exempted from this decision, as it was considered part of her parliamentary duties. The court emphasized that immunity must be directly linked to a parliamentarian's mandate to be upheld.
