Diana Buzoianu: Urșii din localități trebuie împușcați

The interim Minister of Environment, Diana Buzoianu, stated that the only solution for dangerous bears entering urban areas is direct intervention, specifically shooting them. She explained that mayors now have the authority to act immediately against any bear that poses a threat, without following previous gradual intervention steps. Buzoianu emphasized that Romania has between 10,000 and 12,000 bears, and hunting is necessary to manage the population effectively. She warned that intervention quotas must be based on scientific criteria to avoid worsening the situation.
