The Gherăseni diadem, a remarkable artifact from Attila's Huns, dates back over 1,500 years and likely belonged to a princess. Discovered in 1965 by local farmers, it is housed in the Buzău County Museum. The diadem, measuring 19.5 x 4.5 cm, is made of bronze covered with gold and adorned with 143 semi-precious stones. Archaeological research at the site has revealed significant insights into the communities that lived along the Călmățui River. The burial, dating to the early 5th century, belonged to a woman with artificially deformed skull, a beauty standard among the Huns. This discovery highlights the cultural practices of the time and the importance of the site for understanding historical communities.
