A small group of independent Russian developers utilized the AI chatbot Claude to create software for an autonomous swarm of kamikaze drones capable of selecting targets and executing attacks without human intervention. Anthropic's report highlights the use of AI in cyber operations, including phishing and network hijacking against Ukrainian officials. The report coincides with a surge in drone attacks in Kyiv, resulting in casualties and targeting gas stations. The attacks are linked to the Russian threat actor Midnight Blizzard, associated with the Russian SVR intelligence service.
