This imbalance represents over a quarter of Romania's total trade deficit. The growing demand for Chinese products is driven by industrial needs rather than just consumer purchases. Despite a slight overall reduction in Romania's trade deficit, the deficit with China has increased, highlighting the need for Romania to enhance its export capabilities and access to the Chinese market. Opportunities exist in the agri-food sector, with China opening its market to certain Romanian dairy products.
