The country imported goods worth 9.1 billion euros, primarily electrical equipment and machinery, while exports stagnated at 715 million euros. This imbalance represents over a quarter of Romania's total trade deficit. The EU also faces a substantial trade deficit with China, prompting calls for action from the European Commission. Despite a slight overall reduction in Romania's trade deficit, the situation with China highlights a growing dependency on Chinese industrial products. Efforts to increase exports, particularly in the agri-food sector, are underway, but significant changes will take time.
