Dorel Dorin Moldovan, a 28-year-old inmate who escaped from a work detail in Baia Mare, had a detailed plan to flee Romania. After 48 hours of searching, he was captured by police in a vacant lot near the city. During his escape, he contacted acquaintances to facilitate communication with his family for assistance in leaving the country. The Romanian Police utilized gathered information to narrow down the search area, leading to his location. Approximately 170 law enforcement members participated in the operation, which included support from various agencies. Moldovan was apprehended without incident.
