Four employees of the Giurgiu Penitentiary were detained for abusive conduct after a prisoner was hospitalized twice and suffered a cardiac arrest. Prosecutors will decide on preventive arrest measures. The investigation began after footage showed staff violently assaulting the inmate, who had visible injuries and required resuscitation. The National Administration of Penitentiaries has initiated a control team to investigate the incident further.
