The 1st Firefighters Detachment of Oradea celebrates its 90th anniversary this month with various public events, including demonstrations and exhibitions. Founded in September 1936, it serves a metropolitan area of approximately 564 square kilometers. The anniversary highlights the establishment of the first military firefighting structure in Bihor, not the first firefighters in the region. Activities will include open days at various ISU Crișana units, showcasing firefighting equipment and offering educational activities for children. In the first eight months of the year, the detachment responded to over 1,800 missions, including fire extinguishing and rescue operations, emphasizing the need for public awareness regarding environmental issues.
