Descoperiri arheologice pe traseul căii ferate Caransebeş-Lugoj: 23 de situri cu peste 500 de morminte preistorice
A significant archaeological discovery was made along the future Caransebeș-Lugoj railway route, revealing 23 sites and over 500 prehistoric graves. The findings, conducted by the Vasile Pârvan Institute of Archaeology, showcase a history of habitation in the region spanning over three millennia. Notably, a Bronze Age necropolis was uncovered at Sacu, containing around 520 archaeological complexes, primarily cremation graves. Artifacts such as stone tools and pottery were found, indicating connections with distant communities. Additional sites revealed settlements from various historical periods, enriching the understanding of Banat's complex history.
