Descoperire surprinzătoare despre Sfinxul din Giza
Recent research suggests that the Great Sphinx of Giza may conceal fossils of an ancient crocodile species named Herugavialis cairensis. This crocodile, discovered in rocks dating back 54 million years, was found in the same limestone used to construct the Sphinx. Scientists believe that the Sphinx itself could contain fossils of these long-extinct crocodiles. The new species is linked to the Egyptian god Heru, possibly inspiring the Sphinx's creation. Advances in paleontological analysis have allowed researchers to identify this new species, previously misidentified, based on its distinct skull features. Herugavialis likely shared its habitat with other long-snouted crocodiles and primarily fed on fish.
