Descoperire neașteptată în Libia. Un videoclip de pe YouTube a confirmat existența unei feline extrem de rare
A short video confirmed the presence of sand cats in Libya, marking the first documented evidence of this elusive species in the country. Photographer Mohammed Almuntasir captured the footage in 2017, although he had previously seen sand cats at night. Despite isolated reports since the mid-20th century, the species was never officially recognized in Libya until now. Almuntasir collaborated with expert Firas Hayder for eight years to document sand cats and other wildlife, culminating in a study published in February. Sand cats are nocturnal hunters, adept at surviving in harsh desert conditions, making them difficult to study.
