Descoperire medicală! Etapa somnului care te protejează de 83 de boli grave

A large study involving nearly 100,000 individuals highlights the benefits of REM sleep, linking it to a reduced risk of Alzheimer's and heart failure. Conducted by researchers from Capital Medical University in China, the study analyzed data from 95,559 participants in a UK health project. Participants wore wrist monitors for a week, correlating sleep patterns with over 1,000 medical conditions. Longer REM sleep was associated with a lower risk for 83 diseases, while irregular sleep patterns increased risks for several conditions. The findings suggest that 6 to 8 hours of sleep per night is optimal, with less than 5 hours linked to higher disease risk. The study indicates that REM sleep may influence health through mechanisms beyond just sleep duration.
