Descoperire în Turcia: Cea mai veche epavă din lume a fost găsită lângă destinația favorită a românilor
An archaeological discovery in Turkey reveals a 4,700-year-old shipwreck, the oldest known vessel, reshaping Mediterranean navigation history. Found near Kekova, the wreck dates back to around 2700 BC and is 10 meters long. Despite the wood's decay, valuable cargo, including three stone anchors and 30 large ceramic amphorae, was recovered. Experts believe the organic remains may include olive oil or wine. This find predates the previously oldest wreck by several centuries, coinciding with the construction of the Giza pyramids. The discovery highlights the long history of maritime navigation, with evidence of early boats dating back to 8040 BC in the Netherlands and the Minoan civilization's maritime trade in the Mediterranean.
