An archaeological discovery near Cairo reveals a 4,400-year-old tomb with well-preserved decorations, shedding light on ancient Egyptian life. The Spanish-Egyptian mission, led by Josep Cervelló, found a mastaba at Saqqara associated with high official Yunmen and his father Iti. The tomb features two funerary chapels and remarkable wall scenes depicting agricultural activities and offerings, retaining original colors. This find provides insights into social organization and funerary practices of the Old Kingdom, as well as Yunmen's social ascent. The mission aims to reconstruct Saqqara's necropolis and has identified potential nearby monuments for future excavation.
