A significant archaeological discovery has been made along the future Caransebeș-Lugoj railway route, revealing over 500 Bronze Age graves. Researchers from the Vasile Pârvan Institute of Archaeology uncovered 23 sites, providing insights into the region's habitation from prehistory to the early Middle Ages. The most notable find is a Bronze Age necropolis at Sacu, where cremation graves were found alongside artifacts like stone tools and pottery. Additionally, other sites revealed Roman and medieval settlements, enriching the understanding of local communities' history. Ongoing research continues to explore these findings.
