Descoperire arheologică în Alaska: o așezare veche de 13.800 de ani ar putea ascunde cele mai vechi locuințe și urme ale primilor câini domesticiți pe continentul american
Archaeologists have uncovered an ancient base camp in Alaska, revealing evidence of the oldest known dwelling and possibly the earliest domesticated dogs in the Americas. The site, Shégˊ Xdaltthˊíˊ, dating back 13,800 years, contains thousands of artifacts, including tools, bones, and the oldest known needles in the Western Hemisphere. This discovery indicates a long-term residential occupation and cultural connections between early inhabitants of Beringia and those in North America. Future excavations aim to deepen understanding of these early populations and their links to Asia and southern sites.
