DIICOT is conducting ten home searches in Slatina related to an organized crime group involved in human trafficking and extortion. The group, formed in 2018, consists of six members who later added three more. They allegedly provided illegal loans with high interest rates and used threats for debt recovery. Additionally, some members reportedly recruited victims through the 'loverboy' method, forcing them into prostitution both in Romania and abroad, particularly in France, where they facilitated their exploitation.
