In August 2026, deposits of non-government resident clients increased by 0.5% from the previous month, reaching 688.280 billion lei, with an annual growth of 8.8%. Deposits in lei, which account for 67.8% of total deposits, rose by 0.7% compared to July 2026. Household deposits in lei decreased by 0.4% from the previous month but increased by 7% year-on-year. Other sectors saw a 2.2% rise in lei deposits. Currency deposits, representing 32.2% of total deposits, grew by 0.3% from July 2026, with a significant annual increase of 9.7%.
