The municipal waste storage fee in Sibiu County may increase by 5.78% starting in 2027, pending approval in an extraordinary council meeting. The Sibiu County Council will discuss a resolution on October 16, 2026, to adjust the waste storage fee. The current fee of 146.73 lei/ton without VAT is proposed to rise to 155.21 lei/ton without VAT, based on a consumer price index increase. This adjustment follows a request from S.C. Tracon S.R.L. for a fee increase, justified by the operator's calculations. The adjustment complies with legal regulations and will be implemented by the Technical, Investments, and Heritage Directorate of the County Council and the ECO Development Association.
