The U.S. Department of Justice has announced new charges against leaders of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG), offering over $100 million in rewards for information leading to the arrest of eight high-ranking members. The largest reward, up to $25 million, is for Juan Carlos Valencia González, the new leader after 'El Mencho's' death. CJNG has been involved in drug trafficking and violent crimes for over a decade, including a large fraud scheme targeting American homeowners in Mexico. If convicted, some defendants face life sentences. CJNG is recognized as a major producer and trafficker of cocaine and methamphetamine in the U.S.
