Denis-Laurean Popescu a bătut recordul național la 100 m fluture

Denis-Laurean Popescu set a new national record in the 100m butterfly at the European Swimming Championships in Paris, qualifying for the semifinals. David Popovici will compete for the continental title in the 100m freestyle later tonight. Popescu achieved a time of 51.44 seconds, breaking the previous record of 52.35 seconds held by Daniel Cristian Martin. Vlad-Ștefan Mihalache also qualified for the semifinals. Popovici, who holds the competition record of 46.72 seconds, aims for his third consecutive European title in the 100m freestyle. Romania has 11 athletes participating in the championships.
