Delegația română din Grupul S&D a susținut în Parlamentul European garanții suplimentare pentru fermieri în aplicarea taxei europene pe carbon

The Romanian delegation in the S&D Group at the European Parliament advocated for additional guarantees for farmers regarding the carbon tax mechanism. They supported amendments allowing member states to request temporary exemptions for up to four years. The delegation emphasized the need for compliance with production standards in ultra-peripheral regions and highlighted concerns about the economic impact of the carbon tax on fertilizer prices. They aim to ensure that the implementation of the carbon adjustment mechanism considers the economic effects on affected sectors and provides tools to mitigate negative impacts. The PSD will continue to support solutions that protect farmers and food security.
