The illegal logging was conducted in a way that makes detection difficult, with stumps covered by soil and vegetation. Forest rangers claim they were unaware of the activities, attributing the issue to their vast area of responsibility. The estimated damage is 178,000 lei, and penalties have been imposed on the forestry entity for the violations found.
