Deficitul României la petrol a crescut cu 41,6% în 2026

Romania's trade deficit in crude oil and refined petroleum products reached approximately €2.52 billion in the first half of 2026, marking a 41.6% increase from the same period in 2025. The deficit shift is primarily due to a transition from a surplus in refined products to a significant deficit. Imports of refined petroleum products totaled around €1.62 billion, while exports were only about €1.03 billion, covering just 63.6% of imports. Factors contributing to this situation include the shutdown of the Petrotel refinery and maintenance work at other refineries, which reduced processing capacity. The AEI emphasizes the need for a national plan for refining security to address these challenges and mitigate the impact on various economic sectors.
