In the first seven months of 2026, Romania's trade deficit was €19.276 billion, a decrease of €214.7 million compared to the same period in 2025. Exports rose by 3.1% while imports increased by 2%. In July 2026, exports totaled €9.247 billion and imports reached €12.069 billion, resulting in a deficit of €2.822 billion. The intra-EU trade accounted for 71.7% of total exports and 73.1% of total imports, while extra-EU trade represented 28.3% of exports and 26.9% of imports.
