Deficitul bugetar al României s-a redus cu peste 28 de miliarde de lei și a coborât la 2,34% din PIB
Romania's budget deficit decreased by 37% in the first seven months of 2026 compared to the previous year, dropping from 76.44 billion lei to 48.08 billion lei. This reduction is attributed to an 11.2% increase in budget revenues and a modest 2.9% rise in total expenditures. Investments also grew significantly, with spending reaching 76.51 billion lei, supported largely by European funds. However, public debt interest payments rose by 26.5%. The Finance Minister cautioned that the pace of deficit reduction may not continue uniformly throughout the year. Ilie Bolojan, the interim Prime Minister, emphasized the importance of maintaining fiscal discipline to avoid excessive borrowing.
