Deficitul bugetar al României a scăzut cu 37% în primele șapte luni din 2026, până la 2,34% din PIB. Anunțul Ministerului Finanțelor
The consolidated budget execution for the first seven months of 2026 showed a deficit of 48.08 billion lei, significantly lower than the previous year's deficit. This reflects a 37% nominal reduction and a decrease in deficit as a percentage of GDP from 3.99% to 2.34%. The improvement is attributed to increased revenues and controlled public spending, with budget revenues rising by 11.2% while total expenditures grew by only 2.9%. The interim Finance Minister emphasized the importance of maintaining fiscal responsibility while supporting economic growth. However, concerns remain regarding Romania's economic outlook, with warnings about potential downgrades from credit agencies if fiscal discipline is not upheld.
