Romania continues to face alarming demographic decline, with over 5,000 more deaths than births in July 2026. The number of births decreased by 4.2% compared to the previous year, totaling 13,497. Deaths reached 18,777, showing a slight decrease from June but still significantly outnumbering births. The natural population decline is worsening, with a deficit of 5,280 individuals this July, compared to 4,861 in July 2025. Additionally, there were over 12,700 marriages and around 2,000 divorces registered in the same month.
