Decizie istorică în Marea Britanie. Winston Churchill și alte personalități celebre vor dispărea de pe bancnote. Cu cine vor fi înlocuite

The Bank of England is set to redesign its banknotes, replacing historical figures with images of wildlife. A public vote involving nearly 500,000 participants led to the selection of four species: the Atlantic puffin, barn owl, white-tailed bumblebee, and European hedgehog. This change aims to enhance national identity and promote biodiversity while improving security features against counterfeiting. The current notes feature notable figures like Winston Churchill and Jane Austen. The new designs will take several years to implement, with the first notes expected to be released in the coming years. Other European countries have also incorporated nature into their currency designs.
