Interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced the withdrawal of the National Biodiversity Strategy 2026-2030, transforming it into a legislative project due to legal challenges from PSD. This strategy is crucial for avoiding a penalty of over 970 million euros linked to the PNRR. Bolojan emphasized the importance of prioritizing Romania's interests and warned that any changes could jeopardize the milestone's fulfillment. PSD leader Sorin Grindeanu claimed this move signifies the government's acknowledgment of legal missteps, asserting that the strategy's approval should occur through proper legislative channels.
