Debitul Dunării rămâne la minim istoric până pe 17 august

The National Institute of Hydrology and Water Management announced that the Danube's flow at Baziaș will remain stable at 1,400 m³/s until August 17. This level is significantly below the average for August, which is 3,900 m³/s. Recent rainfall in the upper basin has increased flows upstream, but this will not affect the entry into Romania due to decreased flows from the Sava River. Significant rainfall over several days is needed for a substantial improvement in the hydrological regime. Forecasts suggest potential increases in flow after August 24-26, 2026, which could help alleviate current low flow conditions. Climate change is expected to reduce average annual flows and increase the frequency of low flow periods.
