The Danube's flow at Baziaș rose to 1,350 cubic meters per second, still far from the historical average of 3,900 m3/s. Experts attribute this rise to rainfall in Austria, with further increases expected throughout the week. However, after a brief rise, a decrease is anticipated by September 1. Romania has been under an energy alert since August 1 due to low water levels affecting nuclear power generation at Cernavodă. Ongoing dredging works aim to improve water flow to the cooling systems of the nuclear plant, while emergency measures have been approved to ensure adequate water supply for cooling. Nuclearelectrica assures that there are no operational risks despite the current situation.
